What language should I prioritize whenever I want to become a good developer in the future?

So, I am looking to become a possible IT developer, but I don't know where to start. I am trying to find a good language to prioritize, and since I visited a college today (on the day of posting), I was recommended Python and C# (# means Sharp iirc). Would any of these be good? If not, then am I a silly sausage that just needs to go back to 2005 and vice versa?
