yeti/ss, wise drag, rcm VS felthorn sa bers

hi, im currently running as a spirit sceptre/ yeti sword rcm with 3/4 wise drag and im really not seeing survivability, i understand that the next step in progression would probably be hype, and thats a pretty big gap.
I was wondering if a felthorn reaper SA build would be better in any way, because i would prefer a smaller gap in progression (felthorn -> GS -> Valk -> Claymore)
