Should I Switch My Melee Gear for Mage Gear? (Hyperion)

I have always played with melee weapons and I am a berserker in dungeons (only Cata 31, I don't play too many dungeons). I have 1 billion purse and I wanted to know if it is a good idea to sell my set (Necron armor, Giant Sword, and Tier Boosted Ender Dragon) to buy a Hyperion and Storm armor.

I would like to focus mainly on content outside of dungeons, such as Slayers & the Crimson Isle.

What do you think, is it a good idea?
