Mining progression questions

I quit Skyblock for 5-6 months with passive money collecting from slime minions and I'm back like a week ago. I decided to start mining and for now it is enjoyable to grind in crystal hollows. Im currently 60k xp away from HoTM6. I use glacite gear with pickos for nucleus runs alongside comms. I read a lot of guides and people say do 8m/8m powder or smth which I have absolutely no clue.
