In a creative move, a player of Final Fantasy 10 has devised an inventive way to make one of the game's most infamously challenging tasks, dodging lightning bolts in the Thunder Plains, significantly more manageable. Sharing their strategy on social media, the player's efforts have garnered both praise from fellow fans and playful criticism for making light of the daunting lightning bolt challenge.

Recognized as one of the standout installments in the acclaimed Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy 10 immerses players in the role of Tidus, a burgeoning blitzball star hailing from Zanarkand who finds himself unexpectedly transported to the realm of Spira. Teaming up with the young summoner Yuna on her quest to vanquish the monstrous Sin, Tidus joins her guardians, which include characters like her cousin Rikku, who possesses an irrational fear of thunder. Yuna's pilgrimage leads through the tempestuous Thunder Plains, known for the infamous lightning dodge challenge that has become legendary among Final Fantasy 10 players. Yet, one ingenious player has transformed the ordeal of dodging lightning into a thing of the past.

Taking to Reddit, a user by the name of MarionetteScans unveiled a Python script they had crafted, sharing it on the r/FinalFantasy subreddit. As obtaining the Venus Sigil, required to fully enhance Lulu's Celestial Weapon, entails dodging a staggering 200 lightning bolts, players consider this challenge among the most grueling in the entire series. MarionetteScans' script aims to streamline player inputs by having the Python script simulate a controller button press each time the screen flashes white, which serves as a visual cue for an impending lightning strike.

The original poster advised fellow Final Fantasy 10 players to deactivate random encounters, position Tidus on a Cactuar-shaped alcove within the Thunder Plains, and activate the script by clicking on a dark portion of the screen. The post quickly garnered over 500 upvotes on r/FinalFantasy in less than a day. While some fans of the series humorously labeled the script as a form of cheating the challenge, others pondered whether Remote Play on Steam or a PlayStation console could be employed to run the script. Although the OP acknowledged that Remote Play might introduce input lag and complicate timing, they acknowledged its theoretical feasibility.

While Final Fantasy 10 boasts an array of mini-games and trials for players to undertake, the task of evading lightning bolts has now been rendered less daunting due to the ingenuity of MarionettesScans. The extent to which players will embrace and utilize the Python script remains to be observed.
