Earlygame damage?

After the recent talisman change, my damage kind of dropped a little. I'm barely combat 13 and lack the ability to one-shot most mobs. The buffs from talismans are not significant enough for me to actually pursue them, I'd say.

How else should I go about increasing my damage? I don't really know. I have an AOTE and a Skeleton grunt set.
