Description

Smeltery is a plugin inspired by the mods Smeltery and Metallurgy and also by the plugin Brewery. By combining these two ideas I came up with a powerful plugin to allow server and players the ability to new armor and weapons to add an extra level of depth to the game. Players are able to craft and create new items with unique abilities through an entirely new style of crafting called smelting!

Smelting is considerably harder than normal Minecraft crafting but as a result, the items can be much more powerful and offer effects to put other armor to shame! (All configurable of course!)

All Smeltery enhancement are enchantment compatible so there can't be any conflict between any number of enchants and Smeltery upgrades. Even more, nearly all enhancements created by Smeltery are done using the attribute system which will reduce lag and work much cleaner than any other similar plugin! The only features that are not currently done using attributes are durability and magic resistance. Magic resistance, in particular, is a custom connection to my plugin Magic Words. The plugin is not currently available for release but I'll be changing that soon!

Dependency

This plugin has a single dependency on NBT API. This API library makes using NBT tags easier. Don't worry about losing Smeltery if the API stops being updated. In such an event I'll take over support for the API. You can find the NBT API [here].

Features

  • Add recipes for new types of metals!
  • Give each recipe its own ingredients list!
  • Customize smelting times!
  • Custom names!
  • Custom abilities and effects!
  • Customize slots!

Configuration
you can configure...

  • Everything about the plugin!
  • Add completely custom recipes
  • Choose their attributes and effects
  • Decide if metals can be used for just armor, or weapons, or shields.
The configuration file itself offers an explanation for every field and option to make configuration easy! If you need even more help check the wiki! https://github.com/Ajaxan/Smeltery/wiki/Configuration

Permissions
  • smeltery.command: Allows players to give themselves smeltery Alloys.
  • smeltery.smelt: Allows players to add materials to a forge.
  • smeltery.cool: Allows players to cool molten alloys in a cauldron.
  • smeltery.checktime: Allows players to check the smelting time using a clock.
  • smeltery.remove: Allows players to remove molten alloys from a forge.
  • smeltery.recipe.<recipetag>: (Experimental!) Gives permission for a specific recipe.
Commands
  • /smeltery <AlloyTag> Give yourself the alloy with the given tag. Highly recommended to keep this as an OP only command.

How to Use Smeltery
  1. First, you must build a Forge to smelt ores in. <Forge>
  2. Next, you must insert various items into the forge to begin the smelting process.
  3. Smelting ores takes time! Use a clock to check how long metal has been smelting.
  4. Once the ore has smelted long enough, retrieve it from the forge with a Bucket!
  5. Next, submerge the molten metal into a cauldron to cool and solidify the metal!
  6. Use the metal ingots you receive in a crafting table to craft your new armor and weapons!

Making a Forge
  1. First, dig down and place some Netherrack.
  2. Next, light the Netherrack. This fire will fuel your forge!
  3. Afterward, place a Furnace sitting above the Nnetherrack fire.
  4. Finally, place a Cobblestone Fence on top of the Furnace to act as our chimney.
  5. Now put stuff in it!

Debugging

As I am constantly releasing new features for the plugin, it's reasonable to expect small bugs in newer features. Make sure to report any bugs to me in a PM here or on discord, or on the discussion page. As soon as I am alerted I'll begin fixing the bug. The more info you can give me the faster I can get it fixed.

Note: If a bug report is posted as a review with a low score, I will offer no support. The review section is not meant for bug reports.

Why Premium?

Smeltery was conceived as a plugin meant to help my own server stand out and be unique in the world of Minecraft Servers. After working for awhile, I realized the plugin was just too cool and too unique to not share with everyone! That said, I still want my server to hold some uniqueness. I decided that premium was a great way to avoid market saturation but still allow people to use the plugin. Even more, when people do go premium they support me and my server so I can develop even more fun plugins and keep my own servers running for the foreseeable future. For all those who upgrade thank you for your support!
